PRofessional Solutions, LLC and other members of The Boss Ladies were proud to be sponsors of the 22nd annual Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) Washington PR Woman of the Year awards program on November 15, 2011 at the Capital Hilton.

2011 WWPR Washington PR Woman of the YearHeathere Evans-Keenan, APR, president of Keenan PR, Inc. , pictured here with Sherri Core of Core Association Services and Kate Perrin of PRofessional Solutions, was presented with this prestigious award. Evans-Keenan founded Keenan PR, an award-winning public relations and communications firm, in 1999 and has served as president of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

The event featured a keynote address by Jen Psaki, former White House deputy communications director and current managing director of Global Strategy Group.  A raffle was held to benefit WWPR’s pro bono client, Thrive DC, a nonprofit working to end homelessness.

PRofessional Solutions, LLC Congratulates Debra Silimeo of Hager Sharp, 2010 Washington PR Woman of the Year

Along with other contributors to The Capital Buzz, PRofessional Solutions, LLC was proud to be a sponsor of the 21st annual Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) Washington PR Woman of the Year awards program on November 10, 2010 at the Mandarin Oriental.

Debra Silimeo, senior vice president of Hager Sharp, was presented with this prestigious award. At Hager Sharp, Silimeo directs the firm’s education and public safety practices and serves as its senior media counselor.

The event featured a keynote address by Dee Dee Myers, former White House Press Secretary, now serving as managing director of The Glover Park Group’s public affairs practice.

A raffle was held to benefit WWPR’s pro bono client, the Children’s Law Center, the only organization that provides comprehensive free legal representation specifically for children who have been abused and neglected, have special education or health care needs.

PRofessional Solutions Sponsors Emerging Leaders Awards

PRofessional Solutions, LLC was pleased to serve as a sponsor of Washington Women in Public Relations’ newly created 2010 Emerging Leaders Awards program held June 15 at Social Restaurant.

Three outstanding young women, ages 21-35, in the DC area who have excelled in public relations were recognized. The recipients were Carrie Fox, president and founder of C.Fox Communications, Lauren Musiol, senior account executive at GYMR, and Stefanie Pidgeon, a communications planner for the U.S. Army.

PRofessional Solutions, LLC Partners with AWC-DC, Sponsors Matrix Scholarship

Katherine Cotsonas, a junior at American University with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and International Relations, received the 2010 AWC-DC Matrix Scholarship, sponsored by PRofessional Solutions, LLC.

In a long-term arrangement with the DC chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, this is the third year PRofessional Solutions has sponsored the Matrix Scholarship.

“We are proud to support the development of future women leaders in our profession,” said PRofessional Solutions Managing Director Melanie Jordan at the May 19 reception at the National Press Club.

Kate Perrin Honored at 2009 AWC-DC Matrix Award Luncheon

PRofessional Solutions CEO Kate Perrin received a Matrix Award for Professional Achievement from the DC chapter of the Association of Women in Communications (AWC-DC) at an annual luncheon where the chapter recognizes top women communicators in the region.

The luncheon was held on May 14th at the National Press Club.

Michelle Singletary, author and nationally syndicated columnist for The Washington Post,  was also honored.

Past recipients include Eleanor Clift, Cokie Roberts and Andrea Mitchell.

Clift, the 2008 Matrix award winner, served as emcee of the event.
